Situated slap bang in the middle of London’s West End just a short walk from The British Museum, Covent Garden, the shops of Oxford Street and Chinatown. The Academy is an intimate hotel that was originally built in 1776 as five Georgian homes. Each of its five houses has developed its own distinctive character over the years and these have now been combined to create a stunning boutique-style hotel. Beautifully decorated throughout and retaining many original Georgian features, The Academy has a Georgian conservatory, a library and even two private gardens. The hotel incorporates 49 guestrooms including 10 suites, each individually designed and decorated to create a unique look. Guests enjoy the quirkiness and warmth of a large private home, sleep in comfortable Egyptian cotton sheets and enjoy the bathroom luxuries. Every room is air conditioned and has a CD player and tea and coffee making facilities. Outside, the private gardens are exclusive to hotel residents. Flowers fill the generous space with colour and a delicate fragrance. The fishpond ripples set a lovely quiet scene to enjoy a glass of chilled wine, a hot brew, and a cosy place to finish your crossword. Situated off historic Bloomsbury Square, this charming Town House is close to the entertainment of Covent Garden, the shops of Oxford Street, the buzz of Chinatown and the grand British Museum. There are 4 Underground stations a close by; Goodge Street, Russell Square, Tottenham Court Road and Holborn. The hotel is 4 stops from Waterloo for the Eurostar and very close to Euston and Kings Cross stations for Gatwick, Stanstead, London City Airport. Heathrow International Airport is 20 kms away. |
